Dr. Holly Kordasiewicz is the Senior Vice President and Head of Neurology at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, where she currently leads the company’s neurology research team and neurology franchise. In June 2025, Ionis announced that Holly will succeed the current Chief Development Officer in January 2026. In her new role she will oversee all of Ionis’ development programs across therapeutic areas. Dr. Kordasiewicz’s career has focused on identifying disease-modifying RNA therapeutics for severe neurological disease, including drugs now in clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease, prion disease and multiple rare neurological diseases.
Dr. Kordasiewicz joined Ionis 13 years ago after completing her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Kordasiewicz began her work on understanding neurological diseases at the University of Minnesota, where she received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience.
