Maureen Elias is a U.S. Army Veteran and passionate advocate dedicated to advancing equitable healthcare, benefits, and economic opportunity for those who have served. She brings more than a decade of experience shaping veteran-focused policy through bipartisan collaboration, pragmatic problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to elevating veterans’ voices in national decision-making. Maureen’s public service includes a political appointment at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she served as Senior Advisor for Benefits and Deputy Chief of Staff, and prior work on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. In her current leadership role with Wounded Warrior Project, she builds coalitions that strengthen veteran healthcare access, modernize benefits delivery, and advance data-driven solutions to improve the lives of warriors and their families. Beyond policy, Maureen is a national mentor with Student Veterans of America and a storytelling instructor and board member of the Armed Services Arts Partnership, helping veterans harness their lived experiences to advocate effectively and lead with authenticity. Known for her collaborative energy and inclusive leadership, she is also an avid off-roader who finds community and clarity on the trails in her Jeep. Her work reflects a lifelong mission to bridge military service and civilian success, ensuring that every veteran’s story informs a stronger, more compassionate system of care and opportunity.
