Mike is the founder and CEO of The Mighty, a leading health community, and executive director of Dup15q Alliance, a non-profit patient advocacy group. His daughter, who has Dup15q syndrome, inspired him to move from journalism into advocacy and health care. Mike has become a leading voice for patient-centered healthcare, collaborating with healthcare leaders on innovative products and services and speaking at events around the world. He serves on the board of directors for the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and several non-profits serving people with autism and rare diseases. Prior to founding The Mighty, Mike was an award-winning journalist and digital media executive at ABC News, NBC News, The New York Times and AOL, where he served as editor in chief. Mike graduated with honors from The College of William and Mary. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and four children.
